Take a four-day route to the heart of the Andes on a city tour in Cusco, arriving at the imposing citadel of Machupicchu and witnessing the natural beauty of the Humantay lake.
The trip will begin with your arrival in the city of Cusco, capital of the Inca civilization. At the appropriate time you will start exploring the city while visiting places such as the main square, surroundings and the Coricancha or known as the Temple of the Sun. In addition, you will be amazed by the constructions made by the Incas on the outskirts of the city such as: the Saqsaywaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay Archaeological Park.
During our second day of visit, we will arrive through a train trip to the majestic citadel of Machupicchu. This Inca citadel built at the top of the Andes, is a magical place full of mystery for its perfect architecture and the connection that surrounds it with the harmonious landscape of the area. Without a doubt, when you visit Machupicchu you will witness how history comes to life.
The next day and by the route to the north of the city of Cusco, we will make a trip until we reach the Beautiful Humantay Lake, a landscape spectacle that is worth appreciating. The turquoise color of its waters and the snow-capped mountains that surround it will connect you with nature.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO – PICK UP FROM THE AIPORT – CITY TOUR IN CUSCO:
We will pick you up from the Cusco airport at the indicated time of your flight schedule, and then transfer you to the hotel in Cusco. Morning to acclimatize.
In the afternoon 12:50 hrs. we will pick you up at your hotel for the city tour.
Starting the tour in the imposing main square of Cusco, realizing the history that it has, where we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco, symbol of Andean religious syncretism, then we go through one of the narrow streets like many in Cusco to the Inca Palace of Qoricancha, where it is located also, the convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, this place was considered in the Inca times as the most important palace built for the Sun god, culminating the visit we will board our tourist bus which will transport us to the 4 ruins which are around the city of Cusco arriving first at the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, which is strategically built on a nearby mountain from where you can see the entire city of Cusco. It is famous for its megalithic stones worked in limestone, some of which are 9 meters high and weigh approximately 100 tons, in this place the festival of Inti Raymi or Festival of the Sun is held every year.
Then we visit the archaeological site of Qenqo, which means labyrinth or zigzag, fulfilled a purely religious function and where it is believed that the Incas mummified their dead, outside it has a semicircular enclosure with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that simulates being a puma which measures approximately six meters.
Later we go to the archaeological site of Puca Pucara, which means “red fortress”, since the calcareous stones which this site was built, it have acquired the reddish coloration of the land. This place had the function of strategic control of people who entered the city of Cusco in Inca times.
And finally we visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, or “tambo” which means place of supply and rest, which were strategically located in the network of roads of the Inca, where we can also see sources of water for religious purposes or supply, as well as niches to harbor mummies and offerings, a really magical place.
Culminating the tour we return to the bus which will transport us back to the city of Cusco to rest after an extraordinary tour.

DAY 2: TOUR TO MACHUPICCHU BY TRAIN
In the morning we will pick you up from the hotel in Cusco at 05:00 AM and we will be transported to the train station of Ollantaytambo (trip by car of 1 hour and 40 minutes approx.). [If the train departs from Poroy the car ride is 30 minutes, then take a 3 and a half hour train ride.]
Once at the Ollantaytambo station we will board the train to go to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town) on the train trip we will enjoy extraordinary landscapes, mountains, rivers and streams, we can also appreciate the flora and fauna of this area of Cusco. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), the agency staff will be waiting for you to give you all the directions, then you will go to the bus station, where you will board the bus that makes a zigzagging route to the mountain where the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu is located (30-minute bus trip).
When getting off the bus we will go to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where you must present the tickets and respective identification documents, from this place the tour will begin in the citadel of Machu Picchu, you will visit the main enclosures of the city with the tour guide who will give us all the information and history of Machu Picchu for approximately 2 hours, We will visit the citadel and places such as: the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, among others.
At the appropriate time, you must take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes where you have free time, you can enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants (lunch not included) and optionally you can visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes that are located north of the town (entrance not included).
At the appointed time you will take the return train from Aguas Calientes 2 hours of travel to Ollantaytambo, where the car will be waiting for you to transport you to the city of Cusco.
Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 3: TOUR LAGUNA HUMANTAY
In the morning at 4:00 AM, we will pick you up from the Hotel in Cusco and we will start the trip in tourist transport to go to the northeast of the city of Cusco. On the way we will pass through different towns and hamlets to the town of Limatambo, from this point we will ascend to the town of Mollepata. Place where we will have our buffet breakfast, then we will continue our trip to Soraypampa.
Arriving to Soraypampa, we will begin the walk towards the Humantay Lake. The walk is around 1 hour to 1.5 hours approx. Arriving at the Humantay Lake we will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscape, the imposing view of the snow-capped Humantay and Salkantay. After a break, we will take all the photos we want, our guide will explain more about the place and its enigmatic views. Later we will return by the same route to Soraypampa, we will take the transport to return to Mollepata, once in this place we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
Finally we will return to the city of Cusco arriving 17:30 hrs.
DAY 4: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
This day you will have free time in the city of Cusco until your flight time. At the indicated time the transport will pass through the hotel in Cusco in order to transfer you to the airport to take your return flight.
