We depart early from Cusco and, after a short ride in tourist transport, we arrive at the starting point for our ATV adventure. From here, you will drive through breathtaking Andean landscapes, open valleys, rural villages, and roads surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The ATV route significantly reduces walking time and allows you to enjoy the surroundings without exhausting yourself.
Upon arriving at the closest point to the Mountain of Colors, a short hike takes you to the viewpoint, where unforgettable views of the natural rainbow of the Andes await you. Ideal for travelers who want to make the most of their time, this tour combines speed, nature, and culture in a single day.
Details of the Itinerary Rainbow Mountain + ATV tour From Cusco
Our adventure begins when we pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 am. Then we will drive south on the Panamerican Highway for one and a half hours until we reach the district of Cusipata, where we will have breakfast. After that, we will continue our journey for another half hour, passing through Checacupe, Pitumarca, and Hanchipacha, and finally arriving at Kayrahuiri around 9:00 am. There, we will leave the car and begin a trek of 30 to 50 minutes before continuing our adventure on ATVs. Before heading out, we will do a 20-minute practice ride.
Then we continue our ATV route to Rainbow Mountain itself for about 30 minutes, driving slowly uphill (no running). Around 10:00 am, we will arrive at our destination—Rainbow Mountain—where we will have approximately 40 minutes to explore and enjoy the stunning landscape.
On our return from Rainbow Mountain, we will ride ATVs for another 30 minutes, followed by a trek of 30 to 50 minutes until we reach the car park and board our private transport back to Cusco.
Note:
Our return trip includes a one-and-a-half-hour drive back to the district of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch at 2:00 pm in the assigned restaurant. After lunch, we will drive for another one and a half hours to Cusco and make our final stop at Plaza Regocijo or Maruri around 4h30pm and 5h30pm, where we will say goodbye.
Extra Option:
We can also offer you the option to ride ATVs to the Red Valley in addition to Rainbow Mountain. This route takes about 45 minutes (a bit longer than the classic one), but the scenery is absolutely phenomenal, different, and even more attractive. The walking time will be approximately 30 to 40 minutes. You can choose between the standard route or the Red Valley option, which is truly incredible.

Flexibility cancellation/ change
- Cancel your tour 48 hours in advance and be reimbursed for the full amount of the tour. If you cancel the tour after these 48 hours prior to your tour no refund will be processed.
- The policy to reschedule or to make any amendment allows the update to be made no more than 5 days prior to the date of your tour and it is valid until December 31st, 2025.
